On monday the 20th of January the Navy moved in an evicted the Tarkwa bay community
Join us on the 8th of February as we meet to listen to a curated mix of the great Fela's music and raise money to help stabilise the life's of the surfer Kids 'groms', guides, and other members of our community at popbeachclub that were thrown in to disarray by the recent Nigerian Navy forced evictions. Most members of our communities are kids and young adults involved in the business of tourism they are skilled surfers, and had lives crafted around being of service to the tourist industry, far removed from the sabotage of oil pipelines. We hope to be able to establish monthly grants and create a frame work for engagement with the kids which will help ensure not only are they able to pursue their passion but they also get some vocational training to help them earn a living in the future. to the older ones we would like to give one off grants towards equipment to help them earn a living and work honorably while still engaged in the tourism industry.
